Heart Transplant Survivor Mysteriously Dies Hours After Delivering First Child

Outpouring of love shown to grieving Nashville, TN father after heart transplant recipient wife delivers their first child trouble free, but then suddenly dies a few hours later.

The fundraising for Nathan Johnson spearheaded by GoFundMe, the largest web-based donor community globally, has earned enormous backing since it started recently.

Johnson from Nashville, Tennessee lost his loving wife, Megan, after she gave birth to their first baby, a beautiful girl named Eilee Kate.

Megan developed Myocarditis, a viral infection of the heart, when she was only 15 years of age. Megan was prescribed numerous medications for several years before being advised to undergo a heart transplant.

In April of 2010, after coming close to death, Megan underwent a successful heart transplant. In 2012, Megan got married to Nathan Johnson, member of a local Christian band.

Tuesday, June 27th, 2017, Megan delivered baby girl, Eilee Kate, without any complications or warning signs to what was ahead. A few hours later, Megan was gone, leaving her doctors confused.

Josh Wilson, colleague of Nathan in the Josh Wilson band, initiated the GoFundMe effort dubbed as “Team Johnson”. So far, the initiative has already raised more than $300,000.

Wilson described Nathan, the band’s guitarist, as one who loved his wife so much. “He loves life and people. Nathan talked about Meg all the time and called her his beauty and goddess”, Josh recalled.

Josh told GoFundMe representatives that Nathan, Meg, and baby Eilee Kate were together for six hours as her delivery turned out to be trouble-free. Being so excited, they didn’t sleep and talked until the morning. However, she encountered difficulties just a few hours later.

Megan’s parents, Wayne and Kathie Moss were very distressed because of her untimely death.

Singer and songwriter Rae Lynn, a contestant of The Voice, shared the GoFundMe link with numerous followers on her Instagram account. As a result, hundreds of people expressed their condolences and sympathy for the Johnson family.

“I am fully aware of the agony that Nathan is experiencing at the moment,” the celebrity performer posted. “I encourage every one of you to pray for the family and spare some money to donate. This will give him time to recover along with his daughter. Life is all about caring for and helping one another,” she added.

The campaign to help Nathan and his daughter is meant to raise sufficient funds for Nathan to survive for the next six months. These will cover all their meals, medical bills, and funeral costs so Nathan does not have to worry about these obligations.

Donors are urged to give money, food, and their prayers to show the father and daughter their love for them.
