Offset printing technology uses plates, usually made from aluminium, which are used to transfer an image onto a rubber “blanket”, and then rolling that image onto a sheet of paper. It’s called offset because the ink is not transferred directly onto the paper. Compared to other printing methods, offset printing is best suited for economically producing large volumes of high quality prints. Offset printing can also print on both sides of the paper simultaneously and on continuous paper for faster print speeds.

This printing process requires skilled operators to make the plates, set the machine up correctly and monitor the use of ink to get the correct colour. Laserfoil Printing is fortunate to have staff with many years’ experience in this regard. Offset printing gives consistent high image quality producing sharp and clean images and type.

Laserfoil Design and Print also provide digital printing which is normally used for short runs. It is easier to set up which reduces costs and it has variable data capability. This means each page printed can have an individual name, addresses or numbering on it. Offset printing cannot do variable data input.
