Honey & Willow Announce The Latest Way to Protect Hands and Wrists When Cooking
A safe alternative to traditional oven mitts. No more burnt hands or wrists, when cooking or using a BBQ
Blackpool, United Kingdom – August 14, 2015 /PressCable/ —
For as long as people have been cooking their food, there have been many cases of burnt hands or wrists. Traditional oven mitts saved a lot of burnt hands but still left the wrists exposed to some nasty burns, many of which have left scars. Another problem is that it is very difficult to pick things up with mitts, especially when using a BBQ.
At last there is a new way to save hands from burns.
Honey & Willow has just introduced their latest product to USA. “Happy Hands” Silicone oven/grill/BBQ Gloves are designed to be both practical and safe and are designed to be loose fitting, so they can be easily slipped on or off quickly.
With a protective layer of Nomex and Kevlar and a coating of silicone they promise to keep hands safe from burns. They also have extra long cuffs to protect wrists and forearms which is the area most likely to suffer from burns.
Happy Hands silicone oven gloves have fingers, unlike traditional oven mitts, which can help with gripping things. The can be used to open tight jars or bottles or change hot light bulbs and are designed to be safer when grilling food on a barbeque and will protect hands and wrists even if they go into naked flames. They are washable and have convenient hanging straps attached for storage.
These have been on sale for a while in UK and have some very positive reviews. Sharon Sinclair, the owner and MD of Honey & Willow, says that she expects the Happy Hands to be very popular in USA.
These are some of the main features:
EXTRA LONG CUFFS protect the inner arm – which is usually exposed and vulnerable SILICONE GRIPS ensure that you are able to handle piping hot food and appliances safely KEVLAR offers superior thermal protection and is 5 times stronger than steel NOMEX suits and gloves are worn by racing car drivers along with other fire retardant materials
The following is an independent review from a professional reviewer who agreed to test the gloves:
“I really like the concept of these types of gloves since they allow you to have full finger control/dexterity while offering heat protection. That’s helpful for pretty much any kitchen task, but essential for jobs such as removing a pan from a bread machine after the bread has been cooked. You need finger movement to do that! The problem with other gloves that I’ve tried is that they stop at the wrist, leaving my forearms unprotected. Not a good situation especially when taking large items off the BBQ. These gloves solve that problem completely — the sleeve extends way up my forearm offering much better protection. Excellent! The overall build quality is very good. These feel substantial, and are more than thick enough for good heat protection. I can pick up a roasting pan with these, or a pan of boiling water and barely feel the heat transfer. The palms and fingers have silicone stripes on them that provide a good, non-slip grip. The sizing is good. I take an XL glove and the Large size of these oven gloves fit perfectly. Not too tight; not baggy.Absolutely zero complaints. They are well-made, work great, come as a set of two (other brands are priced per-glove), and protect not only my hands but my forearms as well. Highly recommend.”
Too many accidents happen these days and anything that tries to prevent them must be a good thing.
