Hydromer Inc Announces the Release of a New Abrasion Resistant Anti-Fog Coating
The New ABRATE-X518TM Coating Brings Innovative Technology to
the Growing Consumer and Industrial Market
BRANCHBURG, NJ / ACCESSWIRE / March 21, 2016 / Hydromer, Inc. (OTCPINK: HYDI) announces the release of a substantial technological advancement in abrasion resistant anti-fog coatings. This specialty coating will be marketed under the “ABRATE-X518(TM)” brand.
Hydromer invested over 5 years of research and development in the scientific development of an anti-fog coating that would exceed the current industry requirements and expectations of abrasion resistance. Manufacturers of such products as swim goggles, ski goggles, motorcycle and snow-mobile helmet visors, etc., have long been searching for a lens coating that would provide durable anti-fog prevention as well as resist the normal consumer created wear-and-tear.
A few coating suppliers have launched some abrasion resistant anti-fog coatings, but these would only be tested using a “sand-drop” test or a “steel wool” test. The Hydromer management team chose to greatly exceed the performance of these tests by using a “Grinding Wheel”! The Hydromer ABRATE-X518 coating was created to survive the brutal exposure of a Taber Abrator Machine (ASTM-1044-08) to 100 cycles using a 500 gram grinding wheel!
“We are extremely proud to present this new coating technology to a global market that has long been frustrated by the durability issues that are prevalent with anti-fog coatings.”, commented Martin von Dyck, Executive Vice President of Hydromer, Inc., adding, “The Hydromer Team met this engineering/chemical challenge and did so with the environment and user safety in mind. The ABRATE-X518(TM) is water based, non-flammable and a one part chemical coating.” For more information please see our brochure: http://www.hydromer.com/Industrial/ABRATE_brochure_v23.pdf.
