News of a potential new development in Sydney has got people talking. Images of a brand new property have been leaked online, fuelling speculation about an opulent real estate gem set to hit the market in the future.
The property in question is a luxurious 6-bedroom home named Ø House. The name is derived from the Danish word for ‘island’ in an apparent nod to the heritage of its iconic neighbour, The Sydney Opera House. Built on the harbour waters, plans show that the home is linked to the northern end of Macquarie Street via a private tunnel.
In a city renowned for its obsession with residential real estate, the proposal takes Sydney trophy homes to an extravagant new level and redefines existing harbourside mansions as second tier. The images suggest that Ø House will offer a unique proposition for buyers, providing an opportunity to purchase a mansion that offers far more than luxe interiors. The enviable location and spectacular views are bound to attract interest.
In light of the revelations online, a spokesperson for the City of Sydney denied that a development application had been lodged, and said that any plans would be in “the early stages.” However, the images that surfaced on the web indicate that a significant amount of time and money have already been invested in the proposal.
In addition to the leaked images, which created a buzz instantly, a recent social media post from an architectural services firm, which has since been deleted, and a password-protected website have also added to fervent speculation surrounding the project.
The mysterious leaked images have come to light after a recent debate between NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet and Planning Minister Rob Stokes on their opposing views of Sydney architecture and will undoubtedly provide a talking point as discussions continue.
For the moment, the Ø House development is shrouded in mystery, but the leaked photographs, social media post and password-protected website (https://ohouse.com.au/) have set tongues wagging. Property moguls, real estate experts and Sydney residents will be waiting with bated breath to see how the proposals unfold in the coming weeks and months.
