Travel to India website IndiaSomeday.com recently announced 10% discount for this festive season. Harsh Sonawala of India Someday talks about his travel planning site and what’s exciting!

What is India Someday?

Harsh Sonawala: “Its not very easy to explain what ‘exactly’ is India Someday. We are a travel consulting service placed somewhere between a lonely planet and a travel agency. India is often a difficult destination to plan a hassle-free holiday just by using yourself. There are so many underlying elements. You need someone to advise you about your route of travel when you first arrive in the country and make a few travel bookings such as ‘train tickets’ or ‘hotel-room reservations’ beforehand.

At India Someday we help our guests plan a personalized and assisted trip to India. So, in a nutshell- India Someday fills the gap between the ambiguity of a guide book and the rigidity of a package tour.”

When did India Someday actually kick-start and how many of you have been engaged and how many do you intend to engage with your team?

Harsh Sonawala: “November 2009 was when Abbas and I brought our website into existence. We are a team of 17 now based in Mumbai. In addition we have a representation in each of Germany, France, Netherlands, Poland and Italy. They work on growing language and country specific domains for India Someday. We also have them working out of our office in Mumbai from time to time.

We are always looking at hiring new talent in the upcoming year those who love to travel first and also enjoy planning travel for other.”

And whom are you aiming as your target audience?

Harsh Sonawala: “Just about anyone who wants to visit India but needs a bit of help with going about things. We have noticed that people between the ages of 24 – 50 (working professionals need our help the most) as they like doing things their way but need a helping hand with planning their trip and dont really have too much time to figure things out all by themselves.

However we have found ourselves planning a lot of backpacker trips for people as young as 17-18 years olds and also for people in their late 60’s these have all been learning curves for us and have been a great source of enjoyment.”

There might be other players in the market doing similar things. How do you think you cut an edge above them? What is your USP?

Harsh Sonawala: “There are way too many travel agencies that sell packaged tours to international travellers. However, we do not know of any that works like we do.

That itself is our USP – the fact that we let you travel your way with just a little bit (of much required) help. And the entire cost of a trip for most parts is extremely economical. Since we charge a reasonable consultation fee and then we book hotels or trains or flights they are all at cost, so the only additional cost to your trip is our fees and in exchange not only do you have experts planning your trip with your best interests in mind but also you have on ground support in the country for anything that you need on the trip.”

Hereon where and how do you see yourself going ‘bout this? How to you plan in making it bigger? How do you market yourselves?

Harsh Sonawala: “Well that is where the focnus is making this bigger marketing ourselves to newer avenues.

For India Someday we will keep marketing ourselves relentlessly. We recently created a bunch of videos that spoke about the stories of the people you are likely to encounter on your travels in India on our social media platforms the response has been very positive.

Apart from that we have also tied up with some of the biggest bloggers that speak about traveling to India and have approached them to try using our services, they were so happy with our service that they have vouched for us ever since.

We are also focusing on the content aspect with our SEO and Adwords team putting in the effort at ensuring we get a lot of visibility and at the same time we focus on creating relevant user friendly content.

And last but not the least word of mouth we have noticed referral marketing really works for us we service a happy client that person gets 5-6 of his friends to travel through us. A happy customer truly is the best form of satisfaction.”

Any thing you would like to share to keep our readers excited?

Harsh Sonawala: “Yes, for this festive season (from the 21st to 31st December 2017) we are offering a flat 10% discount on our fees for people planning their trips with us. The only condition is that you inquire between these 10 days.”
