Jay Z’s Made In America and Whirld Live Confirmed
PISCATAWAY TOWNS, NJ / ACCESSWIRE / JULY 23, 2015 / Mobile Broadcasting Corp., a subsidiary of Mobile Broadcasting Holding Corp. (OTC PINK: MBHC) is proud to announce WHIRLD has officially confirmed attendance to provide LIVE AND INTERACTIVE EDM FESTIVAL CONTENT for JAY Z’s MADE IN AMERICA FESTIVAL in Philadelphia during Labor Day Weekend. This is in addition to attending the IMAGINE FESTIVAL in Atlanta on August 29th, and the ELECTRIC ZOO FESTIVAL on September 4th in NYC as previously announced.
EDM is quickly becoming the music of the millennial generation and its ascent into the mainstream is only a matter of time. Even in business circles, EDM is now referred to as the “next generation of music.” EDM festival attendance has risen by a third as the genre reports a festival audience of over 3.5 million people between the ages of 18-35. The EDM crowd is arguably the most marketable in history and one that can be depended on for a very good level of disposable income.
Ken Bland, CEO of WHIRLD stated, “The growth of EDM would be virtually impossible without the internet. Similar to book publishing, the web has completely and thoroughly disrupted the music industry and WHIRLD IS AT THE CENTER OF THE NEXT MOVEMENT IN MUSIC. EDM is, the music of the millennial generation and WHIRLD’S new relationship with EDM MUSIC, DJ’S, FESTIVALS AND THE EDM COMMUNITY clearly makes us the application for this generation that is simultaneously more connected to each other, and has more money to spend than any other generation in history.”
Live Nation – which emerged with Ticketmaster three years ago to create a live-events megalith-is planning seventeen EDM shows throughout the U.S. and Europe and is now valued at $1.68 BN. At the same time SFX, Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) events and the more California-specific Nocturnal Wonderland. The gross revenues for EDM for the last five to six years is growing 30 to 40 percent per year-sometimes more. EDM now has a worldwide value of $15-20 billion–a number that exceeds global sales of all recorded music.
MBHC and WHIRLD are at the epicenter of the acceptance of EDM into the cultural mainstream. According to FORBEST the 10 highest paid DJs commanded a combined $115 million in 2012. The highest paid DJ on the Forbes list, Tiesto who brought in a whopping $22 million last year, attributes much of the electronic music’s growth to social media.
WHIRLD is now at the center of this movement. With it’s recent content deal with TWITTER it is positioned to be the catalyst for this movement and take EDM MUSIC to an entirely new level when it leaves the iTUNES CONNECT BETA environment and launches in the ITunes and Google Play stores in just less than 30 days.
