When asked how long it took him to become profitable, Schultz replied that it didn’t take long at all.

“Once we were able to get everything up and running, targeting our market was simple,” Schultz said in the interview, adding that the digital influence definitely helped.

“I’ve been in the industry for many years now so I already had relationships with advertisers and many of my friends have apps they were looking to monetize so it was a pretty natural fit for me to get the moving quickly and without much resistance out of the gate.”

Although it can be common for young entrepreneurs to have feelings of self-doubt when launching their business, Schultz said that he didn’t experience this when starting JWS Publishing.

Schultz, a travel enthusiast, fitness buff, and dog lover—he is the proud owner of a Hungarian Vizsla named Mei—credits his positive work ethic for the success of JWS Publishing Inc., which is located in San Diego, California.

“I learned how to prioritize the flow of my day and really dialed-in my marketing skills at a young age,” he said, adding that this skill, in combination with being naturally self-motivated and a hard worker, was a simple equation for success.

Schultz’s interest in competing in sports has also helped his company to be successful, he said.

“There’s something about waking up and competing every day which I love and I’ve approached business with the same mentality.”
