Joule Diversification Helps Lessen Carbon Footprints Throughout New Orleans

September 04, 2015 – – New Orleans, Louisiana based company Joule Solar Energy may have started out strictly solar, but today the company is providing a range of services dedicated to helping lessen the carbon footprint of their community.

“We are more than just residential solar,” states Robert Schmidt, co-founder and chief sales and marketing manager for Joule Solar Energy. The company currently staffs around 75 people, all dedicated to helping make homes and businesses more eco-friendly, and they offer a wide range of services to do so.

Founded in 2009, Joule is now a triple bottom line company. “We’ll be around for many years to come,” states Schmidt. Joule has been an industry leader in residential solar services throughout Louisiana since its founding, and has installed more than 1,200 systems overall. Joule currently has the higher number of NABCEP Certified employees in the state, and offers a 25 years warranty on all workmanship.

Joule is not just about residential services. The company also provides commercial solar services and has installed systems for notable companies and organizations like MS Rau Antiques, the University of Mississippi, RTA Loyola, and the airport in Jackson, Mississippi.

The company’s own warehouse has solar, which brands them as the only net zero company in the entire Gulf South.

Joule’s newest division, LED, has been going strong since June, 2014, and has already signed more than 50 new contracts. LEDs offer exceptional light quality at a small fraction of the cost of traditional lighting. They are 80 percent more efficient than traditional bulbs and have a much longer lifespan.

“We’ve grown substantially from where we started,” states Schmidt. “We’ve added and are continuing to add more services to help our communities take full advantage of energy savings, and we’ll help them to lessen their carbon footprint at the same time. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
