Author Marcus Santi Announces His New Film

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / April 25, 2016 / Marcus Santi, author of Journey of the Son, is beginning the second phase of his multi-phase plan to get a powerful story out to the world.

Journey of the Son is the true story of a father and son, and the quest to face the challenges that life throws down along the way. The book has been written and was published by Thrilling Life Publishers. The 108-page memoir is available in paperback or ebook formats.

Santi is an actor and screenwriter known for his work in 2013’s “Headshop,” a five-episode internet series. “Headshop” is a crime drama in which was cast as Caleb, one of the main characters. More recently, Santi has completed a piece of his own, called “Fingerprints,” and appeared in two episodes of the series “Dark Corners.”

Journey of the Son is a project three years in the making. The story spans Santi’s lifetime, from the time he was a young boy whose father encouraged him to finish races to adulthood, when he found himself sitting in the hospital with his father, who had unsuccessfully attempted suicide.

Now, it’s time for the second phase of Santi’s three-phase vision: a short film destined for the festival circuit. The book has been written; the cast, crew and production team are in place. Locations have been set and a script has been written. Eventually, Santi would like to produce a feature-length film based on the memoir, and with completion of the short film, writing of the feature film script will begin.

“I offer this memoir, and hopefully the film, as an inspiration for the reader and viewer to work toward healing,” Santi said. “I want to spread awareness for those who have been affected by an abusive household.”

Santi is announcing the kickoff of his crowd funding campaign at Kickstarter. With everything in place and rehearsals underway, Santi hopes to raise $20,000 to pay for the production of Journey of the Son. In order to get this new movie drama produced and on its way to the Memphis Film Prize competition and the international film festival circuit.
