The just renovated Jupiter Lighthouse, situated in Florida, is now re-open. As a way of celebrating the South Florida Review, a local business promotion group released a ‘fun facts report’. This report lists some of the fascinating facts about the lighthouse and shows its history.

Recently released, the Jupiter Lighthouse report notes that the lighthouse has served as an Atlantic Ocean maritime beacon since the 1860s. As such, the lighthouse Fresnel lens is the oldest in Florida, with the building being the oldest in Palm Beach County.
Other fascinating facts that the report discloses include that the lighthouse first operated on July 10, 1860 and the tower is 108 feet tall. The lighthouse also has three landings, 105 cast iron stairs and sits on the top of a natural dune to increase its elevation.
The report also notes that the Loxahatchee River Historical Society Inc., a not-for-profit organization, manage the lighthouse and also arranged for its renovation in 2017. Plus, the report highlights that the lighthouse is open year-round with tours available.
