Keiser University is stepping up to offer college students in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, affected by the devastation resulting from Hurricanes Maria and Irma, the opportunity to enroll at one of Keiser University’s 19 campuses within the state of Florida, their campus in Nicaragua, or through their Online Division.

Keiser University operates on a modular schedule, which offers monthly enrollment in new courses and intakes (accepted) new (and transfer) students. Displaced students in need of Disaster Relief Scholarships do not have to wait until the end of the semester to continue their education, and instead can enroll throughout the fall semester. This opportunity would enable impacted students to continue their courses and potentially transfer Keiser University credits back to their respective colleges and universities.

“The tragedy these two storms have inflicted upon the Caribbean is so catastrophic it behooves all Americans to do whatever can be done to help our neighbors to the south,” stated Dr. Arthur Keiser, Chancellor of Keiser University. He followed up to say, “KU is able to help reduce the negative impact and distress these students are experiencing by providing them with Disaster Relief Scholarships and special processing accommodations.”

Due to transcripts and school records possibly not being readily available to support transfers, the institution will work with these students and rely on other verification processes to determine admissibility. Affected students in need of Disaster Relief Scholarships are invited to contact any Florida-based campus of Keiser University, the Nicaragua campus, or the Online Division and speak with the Admissions Office for further details.
