Kevin Griffin To Share His Story At Cancer Survivor Day
May 31, 2016 – – Kevin Griffin has been chosen as one of three people to speak at the National Cancer Survivor Day, an annual treasured Celebration of Life that is held in hundreds of communities nationwide, and around the world on the first Sunday in June. Griffin himself is a cancer survivor. His wife, Kim Griffin, wrote a book to describe his battle titled, “Love You to the Woods and Back“, encouraging people to learn more about his story and how gratitude and random acts of kindness are paving the way of his journey.
Kevin Griffin says: “I am so honored to have been asked to speak at this event. It is an opportunity for me to share my story with other people, in the hopes of giving them some inspiration. There is light at the end of the cancer tunnel, and I am living proof of that.”
The event will take place on June 5, 2016 between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL. The event will include a picnic lunch and will follow a highly inspirational program. Entertainment and activities for all ages have been organized, and a number of exciting door prizes will also be made available.
The Morton Arboretum is located at 4100 Rt. 53 in Lisle, just north of the I-88. Those attending will have to inform the gate attendant that they are there for the Cancer Survivors’ Day Celebration, at which point they will be given free entry. Designated and reserved parking will be provided with tram transport to the event site itself. Kevin does want to inform people that the location is an uneven grass surface.
While the event is free to attend, a suggested donation of $5 per person is in place at registration. All cancer survivors, family and friends are welcome. No invitation is required. As the Vice president of Business Development at Reebie Allied in Chicago, Kevin Griffin hopes to see as many people as possible there.
The event will also be an opportunity to learn more about the author of the book. Written by his wife, it tells an emotive story of what it means to live through the cancer diagnosis of a loved one, and how to go forward from there.
