Tidewater’s shares gained 3.16 percent to close at C$1.47 a share Thursday. The stock traded between C$1.42 and C$1.48 on volume of 2.27 million shares traded. The company reported average production of 9,080 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), 94 per cent oil and liquids, for the second quarter of 2016, an increase of 4 percent year-over-year. On August 24th, Spartan Energy announced the completion of a C$80.8 million equity financing at C$3.18 per share. Shares of Spartan Energy have gained approximately 47.9 percent year-to-date and have gained roughly 6.1 percent in the past month.

Wi-LAN’s shares dropped 4.39 percent to close at C$2.18 a share Thursday. The stock traded between C$2.16 and C$2.27 on volume of 513,252 shares traded. On August 2nd, the company announced it’s Wi-LAN wholly owned subsidiary, Anton Innovations Inc., has acquired multimodal WiFi technology patents from MLR LLC. “Wi-LAN’s well-earned reputation for conducting successful licensing programs on behalf of inventors was a crucial factor in MLR’s decision to partner with WiLAN on this portfolio,” commented Charles Leedom Jr., president of MLR. Shares of Wi-LAN have gained approximately 17.8 percent year-to-date, but have fallen roughly 35.3 percent in the past month.
