Little Sleepy Head Explains How Its Products Can Affect Kids on a Cellular Level
Little Sleepy Head products support a restful night among children – a habit that recent research shows can help to keep cellular aging at a normal level. Sleeplessness, on the other hand, speeds up cellular aging in kids.

Little Sleepy Head products may be helping children to be able to keep cellular aging under control by promoting restful sleep on a regular basis.
Recent research published in the Journal of Pediatrics revealed that kids who aren’t receiving their recommended average of 9 to 11 hours of sleep per night show signs of accelerated cellular aging. This means that without adequate sleep, the building blocks of kids’ bodies start to age more quickly than those of children who get the rest they need.
In the study, the researchers examined the caps at the ends of the chromosomes, called telomeres. The telomeres are believed to be an indicator of the aging of the cell in which the chromosome is located. The telomere length was about 1.5 percent shorter for every hour under the recommended amount that a child was receiving at night. This is thought to mean that every hour of sleep a child loses will increase the rate of aging in his or her cells.
The study involved the participation of 1,567 nine-year-old children. So far, scientists don’t know what impact the faster cellular aging will have on the kids over time. Still, the Princeton University researchers did share that they found it to be a worrying trend and that it concerned them that it could cause harm to a child’s health later in life.
Little Sleepy Head products – such as the toddler pillows and pillowcases, and even the bedtime-friendly bath and skin care products – help to establish a great bedtime routine followed by a comfortable night.
The bath time and skin care products contain natural lavender and chamomile, which are common aromatherapy ingredients to encourage calm and restfulness. The Little Sleepy Head pillows are ideally sized for toddlers and young children, making it super-snuggly while still providing the support needed for the head and neck during the night.
By helping kids to get a better sleep at night and to do so on a regular basis, Little Sleepy Head products may very well be contributing to improved rest in children and, therefore, a better rate of cellular aging.
