London-Based IT Company, Netstar, Relocates To New Offices To Offer Employees Greater Flexibility

London-based IT support and technology consultancy company, Netstar, has moved to new offices in Farringdon to provide employees with flexible working options.

2020 was an extraordinary year for businesses, with many operating remotely during prolonged periods of lockdown and Covid-19 restrictions. Remote working posed unique challenges for companies and their employees but there were also benefits to enjoy. Some employees thrived at home and many were eager to continue working from home after restrictions started to ease.

The switch to remote working came out of necessity for companies when the Covid-19 outbreak hit but many employers are keen to build on the positives moving forward. Netstar, an award-winning IT support and technology consultancy company, is adapting to life after lockdown by recognising the benefits of flexibility and the preferences expressed by employees.

When searching for new premises, managing director, Mit Patel, said, “It was crucial for us to find a space that accommodated our expanding team of IT professionals. We listened to their preferences and agreed that we needed a workspace that made flexible working possible long-term. Employees can now book desks in our new, modern offices using an app. This allows them to come into the office as much as they please, whilst ensuring we can still implement social distancing and keep our team safe.”

Over the coming weeks, all Netstar’s employees will have the option to work alongside their colleagues at the new Farringdon office and the team is also looking forward to welcoming clients once it is safe to do so.

Mr Patel took the decision to relocate to new offices after gathering information and feedback from employees and evaluating the impact of the pandemic and the changes it inevitably triggered for the future of office work.

A survey conducted by LinkedIn for World Mental Health Day in October suggested that opinions on remote working were mixed. While 49% said working from home was positive for mental health, 40% of participants said it had a negative impact on their wellbeing. Of those who expressed negative feedback, only 40% wanted to go back to the office full-time. Another study by Personio found that a quarter of employees would resign if they had to return to an office permanently.

Mr Patel and the Netstar team are responding to the challenges of finding a healthy balance and providing employees with flexible working options by combining elements of office and remote work and giving the team additional support as employees adjust to a ‘new normal.’ Netstar has also produced a guide to help other businesses and organisations welcoming employees back.
