BOSS (Back Office Shared Services), a leading force in outsourced work for Australian and New Zealand accounting firms looks to aid a broader market. The first step – widening their services beyond accounting firms to the commercial sector by offering a free 20-hour bookkeeping trial.
BOSS’ overall goal is to help local businesses of all sizes reach their expansion goals. BOSS accomplishes this by offering trained and certified accountants who can cover any task covered by Australian and New Zealand tax laws at prices far lower than in-house hires, saving the businesses money and training time.
Savings: The savings for companies can be immense. Outsourcing accounting work saves businesses both time and money by:
– doing away with advertising the in-house accountant position
– doing away with lost training time
– cutting out HR personnel costs
– cutting extras (benefits meant to add allure like paid meals, etc.)
– eliminating overhead (in-house furniture, IT hook-ups, etc.)
These costs (and more) are estimated to cost businesses three times the base salary of a new hire. It can take up to six months for a new hire to start to break even and begin to work at normal efficiency levels.
BOSS boasts that its clients have seen up to an immediate 42% increase in profits by outsourcing accounting tasks. These increased profits can represent the make-or-break point for businesses looking to expand.
These savings were previously only available to accounting firms. With the new 20-hour free bookkeeping trial BOSS is looking to help a wider range of local businesses achieve their expansion goals.
Secure integration: A business outsourcing accounting tasks passes their bookkeeping files to their overseas team via one of three methods:
1. ATO Portal – BOSS is given restricted permission to the client’s ATO portal. This method has the added advantage of allowing BOSS to lodge tax returns on behalf of the client.
2. Cloud – BOSS accesses the client’s files which are stored in the cloud. Clients are able to track the work being done via BOSS’ Work Flow Max system.
3. Offline – The client uploads files which are then downloaded on BOSS’ end (as opposed to the file being worked on while it remains in the cloud). Once the work is done, the client downloads the files back to their in-house system.
Ease of use: BOSS’ clients that are outsourcing accounting jobs have traditionally asked how they will be able to keep a watch over files. Lee Court, BOSS’ Client Relationship and Marketing Manager, replies:
“We’ve made it as simple as possible. The clients send us their bookkeeping info [via one of the above methods], and then either send us an email telling us what they want done, or they’re able to speak directly to their virtual bookkeepers via Skype. The overseas team members have all signed confidentially agreements, so the conversations are completely secure. Plus the overseas bookkeepers are official BOSS employees, so clients are dealing with an Australian company. Overall it’s as easy as working with an in-house employee.”
About BOSS: Founded in 2004, located in Lindfield NSW, BOSS is an accounting outsourcing company designed to help local businesses gain the profits and time necessary to reach their expansion goals. BOSS is a certified Practice Entity Member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
