Manganese Exploration Commences on BHK’s Ndjole Licence

VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / April 6, 2015 / BHK Mining Corp. (the “Company” or “BHK”) reports that exploration work has commenced on its 2,000 square kilometre Ndjole manganese/gold Licence (the “Licence”) in Gabon.

Preliminary Testing of Manganese Soil Anomalies using Auger Drill and Handheld XRF Analysis

The Company utilizes a rapid exploration method, using auger drills combined with a handheld XRF unit for accelerated follow-up and semi-quantitative geochemical analysis of the weathered rock material below manganese soil anomalies.

At the time of this report a total of 232 auger holes have been drilled and a total of 991 samples collected (See www.bhkminingcorp.com for location maps). Analysis with the handheld XRF is currently underway and a total of 534 samples including standards and duplicates have been analyzed to date. Handheld XRF is a method that is used to produce reliable manganese analyses. Pits have been excavated at the site of two of the stronger manganese auger results to expose the mineralization in three dimensions.

The auger drill program is designed to test the weathered rock (saprolite) below scree, ferricrete and laterite, which covers much of the target area. The auger drills are capable of drilling to a depth of approximately 10 metres under favourable conditions. The aim of the rapid auger drill program is to produce bedrock manganese targets for subsequent diamond drilling.

Table 5 shows selected results from handheld XRF analysis of the auger samples. These analyses are a useful indication of manganese mineralization at or near surface, but cannot be used to calculate grade and tonnage or be a proxy for diamond drill results.

TABLE 5. Best, selected manganese results from auger drilling hole NDAU0001 to NDAU0120 (>5% Mn). These results from the saprolite and mixed scree/soil are often an indication of high grade manganese mineralization below.

2015 Work Program on the Ndjole Licence

Progress was made during the first quarter of 2015 upgrading and refurbishing road access to the North East target. Construction of a field camp close to the North East target has commenced and will be completed in early April.

Current exploration work includes completion of the program on the North East target, with the Central East and South East targets to follow using the auger drill rigs. Field crews will subsequently excavate a series of pits over the best auger drill results at North East, Central East and South East. These pits will allow the collection of larger scale samples for mineralogy and metallurgy work on the manganese mineralisation. (See www.bhkminingcorp.com for location maps)

The BHK team has re-sampled existing diamond core over the North East target where previous analysis indicated over limit (>11% Mn). These re-sampled core sections have been submitted for ore grade analysis to obtain accurate manganese results.

A total of 3,070 soil samples, previously collected in the South and West areas, have been shipped to ALS Chemex, South Africa for ICP multi-element analysis. (See www.bhkminingcorp.com for location maps)

If warranted, and dependent on the results of the auger program, diamond drilling of the East targets will be undertaken during the second half of 2015.

Soil sampling of the southerly extensions of the North West and South East targets will be initiated once the dry season starts (July – October). (See www.bhkminingcorp.com for location maps)

Reprocessing and evaluation of the SpectrEM airborne geophysical data to target manganese horizons are underway using a specialist contractor.
