The Newly Announced Watches will Feature a Modern and Retro Design

As a company spokesperson noted, Brigham has deep roots in both the Motorsport and watch making worlds. The former racer, who has wanted to create his own line of motor racing inspired watches for years, is the great grandson of Adamir Marchand, a Swiss watch and clock inventor.

“Having competed and worked in Motorsport for several years in his late teens to his early 20s, Daniel was naturally surrounded by exotic cars, which brought desirable watches to the scene,” the spokesperson said, adding that it was here that his passion for watches was established.

“Now, Daniel is aiming to bring an insight into the motor racing world from how we experience it, through the ‘Eye of the Driver.'”

Unlike other Motorsport-inspired watches that look very busy with too many functions on the dials, Brigham wanted to tone it down a bit.

“Daniel gained inspiration for the Debonair’s dial from the view that the driver has when sitting in the driving seat,” the spokesperson said.

“From the driving seat you first have in sight the steering wheel followed by the speedometer.”

Keeping this retro flair in mind, Brigham designed the watches to resemble a 1960s steering wheel, including the 3 spoke big hole style, which he raised from the dial surface to boost dimension.

“We have added the feature of the colour change to the tachometer at 10 o’clock to continue the authenticity of the speedometer design.”

The Debonair collection will include six models and six color schemes, including Lotus racing green with a green case ring and black and orange with an orange case ring.

In order to help pay for the production and marketing costs associated with bringing the new Debonair collection of watches to the public, Brigham and Harvey recently launched a fundraiser on Kickstarter. There, they hope to raise $37,581 through crowdfunding.
