Samira was raised in Switzerland and was first exposed to New York City when she was a little girl. She told herself that she would one day live there, and 38 years later, her dedication led her to start from scratch in America. Samira studied accessory design at FIT and made it her purpose to learn everything she could about leather and how to shape it perfectly to even the most intricate of designs. With such a deep understanding of her craft and the materials she uses, Samira produces quality leather handbags that provide style, function and, most importantly, quality to her clients.

The recently announced Olina Mini is a smaller version of her Olina bag with a cross body option and a focus on minimalism. It is available in six different colours: Black, Tan, Grey-Green, Red, Brown and Navy-Blue. The Olina Mini perfectly follows Samira’s design philosophy. In her own words, Samira’s Nativ Collection is “straight to the point, no frills, true quality, and an aesthetic that never goes beyond the functionality”.

Due to the intricate detail and quality construction of each handmade bag, there is a period of four to six weeks from the point of sale to the delivery. Throughout the manufacturing process, clients are invited to view the status of their order with individual client pages that show each stage of the bag’s construction. This allows each client to become more emotionally invested in their bag instead of having its history hidden from them. Samira believes it’s important to make the client feel like they are in the studio together, hence why they don’t carry any stock—everything is made to order and its history and progress can be tracked by the client.
