Mengniu Group and 4Paradigm Join Hands to Hold Innovative Tech Contest

Mengniu, together with the 4Paradigm, launched the first “Niukesong” innovative technology competition

The dairy giant Mengniu Group, leading AI company 4Paradigm joined hands to hold an innovative technology competition recently.

Dubbed as Niukesong, the competition has a prize pool of 600,000 yuan ($93,959) for competitors who are able to leverage forefront technologies including AI, cloud computing and internet of things to offer innovative solutions in digitalization and intelligent transformation across industries.

“Although implementing AI technology has still faced many problems, digitalization is the foundation for the transformation and upgrading of companies. Traditional companies need to make more efforts to push forward the digital transformation. Speaking at the Finals Award Ceremony, Zhang Jue, Chief Data Officer (CDO) of Mengniu Group said, “Many people think that the dairy industry is a typically traditional industry, but Mengniu now firmly seek to deepen digitalization and promote intelligent technological development in the industry.”

Within just one month, the “Niukesong” competition attracted more than 1000 contestants from 320 teams. After strict selections, 21 teams stood out and made it into the final round. The champions of the new retail, smart ranch and health and wellness tracks were won by Hangzhou Yishi, Planet Data and WeDoctor respectively.

According to industry experts, commodities prices generally have climbed up in the past two years. But dramatic price fluctuations in the dairy industry are not allowed considering it is closely linked with people’s livelihood. Mengniu’s approach is to fully promote digital and intelligent transformation, to achieve overall cost control and efficiency improvement.
