Michigan Woman Holds J&J Accountable For Ovarian Cancer Diagnosis In Talcum Powder Lawsuit

November 20, 2016 – – TheProductLawyers.com reports on a lawsuit filed by a Michigan woman who claims that Johnson & Johnson’s talcum powder products are the reason she developed ovarian cancer.

According to the St. Clair Record, the plaintiff filed a complaint in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Johnson & Johnson, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Co. Inc., Imerys Talc America Inc. and Walgreen Co., claiming that the companies didn’t inform customers appropriately about the alleged health risks.

She is far from the only woman to file a suit against these companies concerning similar allegations. Pharmaceutical companies such as Johnson & Johnson have been hit with over 2,000 lawsuits from women who claim that they or a loved one developed ovarian cancer after using the product for feminine hygiene purposes. These women argue that Johnson & Johnson should be held accountable for fraud and negligence for failing to provide consumers with information that would warn them about the alleged risks.

Since the first case was filed in 2009, Johnson & Johnson has aggressively fought against these claims, stating that there is no link between ovarian cancer and their products. Despite this argument, Johnson & Johnson has been made to pay millions in compensation after three juries found that a link does exist. The company is planning to appeal all three decisions.

As these lawsuits are expected to grow in numbers, Banville Law is seeking to help those currently suffering. The firm has many years of experience fighting large pharmaceutical companies who have put dangerous drugs and devices onto the market, foregoing public safety for corporate greed.
