Missouri Man Suffers Severe Burns In E-Cig Explosion As E-Cigarette Explosion Lawsuit Numbers Increase
July 19, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com provides information about the number of exploding e-cigarettes that have occurred in the state of Missouri since 2009. There have been 5 reported episodes, 4 of which have happened in the last couple of months alone. A recent explosion occurred on April 30th as reported by NewsPressNow.com, a local Fox subsidiary station, followed by 3 more in the month of May.
NewsPressNow.com reports that the victim was at work when his e-cig exploded in his pocket. A number of his work associates, 20 to 30 of them, saw the incident and stated that the noise from the explosion was just as loud as a firecracker going off. The man described the events leading up to the explosion. He stated that he felt his pocket getting very hot and then heard a hissing sound emanating from his pocket followed by smoke. He then began to see flames coming from his pocket. The victim suffered severe burns to his groin area and inner thigh. This Missouri incident demonstrates how quickly an explosion can happen.
Attorney Marc Freund of LipsigLawyers.com wishes the victim a full recovery and also hopes he seeks legal justice for what happened to him. He said that as e-cigs continue to gain popularity among consumers the number of explosions will significantly increase.
As per a timeline of e-cigarette explosions developed by TheProductLawyers.com, the number of exploding e-cigs numbers 199 to date. Of this reported number, 77 have already occurred in 2016. Of the explosions that have happened in 2015 and 2014, 47 and 38 respectively, the 2016 number of explosions reported so far exceeds the number of the two prior years combined.
