As a Queensland government requirement, registered cars must have a valid Safety Certificate/Roadworthy Certificate (both names refer to the same certificate) before owners can offer them for sale. Significant fines apply for failing to display a current Safety Certificate. Why take the risk of driving an unregistered or possibly unsafe vehicle when companies such as East Coast Mobile Safety Certificates come to you?
East Coast outlines that when selling a vehicle privately the Safety Certificate/Roadworthy Certificate is valid for a period of 2 months or 2,000km (whichever comes first). Dealers Safety Certificates/Roadworthy Certificate are valid for 3 months or 1,000km (whichever comes first). The buyer should check that the certificate is still dated valid before committing to the purchase of a vehicle as transferring the registration cannot be completed without a Safety Certificate/Roadworthy Certificate.
As stated in the Queensland Transport Inspection Guidelines “A safety certificate inspection is not a comprehensive mechanical inspection on the quality, or life expectancy of a vehicle”.
Not only do East Coast offer convenient onsite Roadworthy/Safety Inspections as per Queensland Transport Guidelines they also offer a more comprehensive onsite 99 point Pre-Purchase Inspection Report.
Grant McGregor, CEO of East Coast Mobile Safety Certificates says, “Our reports are independent and thorough, providing you with a detailed description and condition report of the vehicle, which also includes a report on any structural damage the vehicle may have. Our fully qualified mechanics will go over the vehicle with ‘a fine tooth comb’, from the interior, body condition and provide a full 99 point mechanical report to help you make the right decision…”
