More Cold Chain Technologies to be Unleashed, Forecasts Augusto Beato

March 11, 2019 – – With e-commerce fueling demand for cold storage facilities, Augusto Beato anticipates that more innovative technologies for the cold chain sector to soon emerge.

He was reacting to news that Technical Supplies & Services Company (TSSC) of Dubai has unveiled its solar-powered refrigeration unit, and that Yale Europe Materials Handling will fit cold storage delivery trucks with a heated or fully insulated cabin.

Beato, the CEO of Portland SEO, noted that there’s an insatiable demand for fresh food that is making cold storage increasingly important part of supplying hungry Americans with fresh food anytime.

“With no signs of e-commerce letting up, and online shoppers turning to the internet for more food purchases than ever before, there is an increasing requirement for cold storage facilities to compensate for this added demand,” Beato emphasized.

Among those technologies is solar-powered refrigeration that provides various benefits such as less energy consumption, less noise pollution, elimination of emissions from diesel exhausts and less dependency on the truck engines to maintain cooling in cases where engines are shut off.

TSSC’s innovative eutectic plate system also ensures the maintenance of temperature inside a refrigerated truck or cold storage for long periods, even after the unit has been disconnected from the power supply. It has been successfully testing products and fabricating vehicles of all types and sizes, equipped to transport perishables such as dairy, poultry, meat, fruits, and juices.

Meanwhile, keeping operators warm particularly in the food and beverage industry where cold stores are prevalent will help keep the logistics chain moving.

“Our customers tell us that their operators perform best when they are comfortable,” explains Gianbattista Scaramuzza, Senior Product Strategy Manager for Warehouse Equipment at Yale.
