mSpy Parental Control App Collaborate With YouTube Star Coby Persin To Highlight Dangers of Social Media
mSpy has teamed with Coby Persin to show parents the dangers children face on social media today, and how their app can help parents protect their children and monitor their mobile activity.
Scotland, Edinburgh – November 16, 2017 /MarketersMedia/ —
mSpy is on a mission to create awareness around the problem of cyber dangers, specifically contacts with unknown individuals, by sharing a real social experiment performed by YouTube star Coby Persin. The collaboration showed how real parents were able to monitor their child’s online activity using mSpy, and prevent a potentially calamitous meeting with a stranger met online through social media.
The social experiment sees Coby Persin going undercover on social media with the parents’ permission, to create moral demonstrations of how serious fake profiles can be for young people. Coby created three fake profiles, and contacted young people with their parents’ permission. Through mSpy, parents can monitor all the conversations Coby has with their child, which are geared toward meeting up in real life.
When the children come to meet the stranger, they are instead confronted by Coby and the parents, who take great pains to try and explain the dangers of social media to children who could have been caught in a much more serious situation. Of the three children in the experiment, all three attended the meet up, highlighting the need for better awareness and monitoring of children’s communications on social media.
Rachel Burnham, CMO at mSpy parental control app explained, “The video is extreme and is a must-watch for every parent. We understand that children are exposed to constant opportunities to meet and communicate with new people online. We also understand that the security measures and verification of social media profiles are easily circumnavigated by those who might wish to do harm to children. Coby Persin does outstanding work in getting this message across clearly and empathetically to both parents and young people. We wanted to partner with him to demonstrate how mSpy can help parents monitor their child’s communication and location, so they are better able to keep them safe in a world where people can easily hide their true identities.”
