NBA All-Star Chris Bosh Draws Public Attention To Blood Clot Dangers As Xarelto Lawsuit Numbers Increase
April 27, 2016 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com comments on a recent news release from Business Insider which indicated that NBA-All Star Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat is now struggling with another blood clot scare. Details regarding his current condition and specifics of his future basketball career plans have yet to be released, and as the article noted, “no determination will be made about his playing status until he goes through more tests and evaluation.” This information was attributed to ‘a person with knowledge’.
Bosh has unfortunately been sidelined with blood clot scares before. As Miami’s leading scorer, many follow his health troubles and await his safe return to the court. It was reported that Bosh was pulled from both the All-Star Game and 3-point contest because of what was first described as a ‘calf strain’. According to the article, last season the player “…was shut down at the All-Star break…because a blood clot had found its way to one of his lungs, and that issue is something that Bosh believes started as a calf problem.”
Blood clots in the lungs can cause pulmonary embolism, a dangerous and potentially fatal condition. After dealing with his first blood clot scare, Bosh joined with Xarelto manufacturer Janssen Pharmaceuticals (a subdivision of Johnson & Johnson corporation) and began to do commercials for the anticoagulant drug. It was reported that he began to use the blood thinner at this time for a period of several months.
Xarelto and manufacturers Janssen and Bayer AG have been subjects of great controversy recently as well, as lawsuits surrounding the drug now number over 3,400. These lawsuits have been formed into two main groups with over 2,800 formed into a multidistrict litigation group (MDL 2592) in Eastern Louisiana, and over 620 Xarelto lawsuits now consolidated by the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to form a mass tort program. Plaintiffs involved in each of these lawsuits share strikingly similar allegations that Xarelto puts users at increased risk of sudden and dangerous bleeding events, which in some cases proved fatal.
At this time, Attorney Joseph Osborne is working to help other patients who have taken Xarelto and who feel that they have been negatively impacted by the drug. He wants to ensure that all affected patients will be given the opportunity to fully evaluate their legal rights in the matter, as they may be entitled to substantial compensation. To assist those wanting to further investigate their options at this time, Attorney Osborne is offering free legal consultations to affected parties.
