Nebraska Xarelto Lawsuit Plaintiffs Claim Drug Caused Serious And Permanent Complications

March 25, 2016 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on a lawsuit which has been filed against the manufacturer of anticoagulant Xarelto, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, (a subdivision of Johnson & Johnson corporation). Plaintiffs involved in this case are a Nebraska couple who claim that the defendant produced an unsafe drug which ultimately caused the husband serious and permanent health complications including a sudden bleeding episode and a shortened life expectancy.

Further details from the lawsuit, which was filed under case number 2:15-cv-06514 in Eastern Louisiana, show that the husband took Xarelto from May through December of 2013, after being prescribed the blood thinner by his physician. After suddenly suffering from a severe gastrointestinal bleed, he discontinued use of the drug.

Unfortunately, this couple is not alone in their arguments. Xarelto has been the topic of thousands of lawsuits from plaintiffs across the country in just 5 year’s time. These plaintiffs commonly claim that the anticoagulant places those taking it at increased risk for sudden and dangerous bleeding episodes. All federally-filed Xarelto lawsuits have been consolidated by the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to form MDL No. 2592, and they currently include more than 2,800 cases. In addition to these cases, more than 600 others have been consolidated by the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to make up a mass tort program.

Additional details concerning this lawsuit show that the plaintiffs are asking for compensatory and punitive damages and finances to help with covering the cost of litigation. As these plaintiffs and many others await their trial date, Attorney Joseph Osborne is dedicated to doing his part to help ensure that anyone who feels they have been negatively affected by using Xarelto will be provided the important opportunity to fully investigate their legal rights. Affected individuals may be entitled to significant compensation gained through legal action. To better assist those wishing to pursue justice in the matter, Attorney Osborne is currently providing complimentary legal consultations for qualified parties.
