New non-monogamous dating app Ysos launches in US
Dolly Parton and Nico Tortorella are just some celebrities who choose not to follow monogamy – and are vocal about it.
Florianopolis, State of Santa Catarina, Brazil – February 9, 2024 —
In recent years, more and more famous couples are breaking taboos by adopting the non-monogamous lifestyle, stepping away from the traditional model of marriage that involves only a duo. With this in mind, those who think love is only valid when it’s just the two of you better brace themselves for a growing revolution in the world of relationships.
Nowadays, technology has favored the search for people who adhere to this lifestyle, and there are already dating apps available specifically for this purpose, such as the newly arrived platform in the US, Ysos.
Ysos, the Brazilian dating app, made its debut in the United States last December and is available now coast to coast. To get started, simply download it from the AppStore or PlayStore.
The app first appeared in Brazil in 2018 and has gained popularity among couples and single people who are in open or non-monogamous relationships. Presently, there are more than 1.5 million registrations and it is distinguished for being a safe and open environment for sharing experiences, viewing and displaying photos, and engaging conversations.
The list of celebrities who have embraced open relationships includes personalities like Nico Tortorella and Bethany Meyers. The actor from “Younger” shares that they believe in polyamory and that it forces them to be more aware of their actions and behaviors towards others. For them, opening up a relationship and maintaining a deep love and respect for your partner is not an easy task and it can teach you a lot about yourself.
Another celebrity on the long list of non-monogamous individuals is Dolly Parton. The godmother of Miley Cyrus has been married for 51 years to the executive Carl Dean, who is very reserved and doesn’t like to appear in public. In fact, Dolly has made it clear several times that she doesn’t care if her husband goes out with other women while she’s on tour.
According to Mayumi Sato, CMO of Ysos, a dating app focused on the non-monogamous public, despite being a topic surrounded by taboos, many people adopt this lifestyle. “Non-monogamy isn’t just a celebrity thing. In Brazil, for example, where our community was born, we have over 1.6 million people using Ysos and living happy and free relationships. And here in the USA, we’re growing every day. The most important thing is to have an open mind and understand that each couple must have emotional responsibility and their own agreement respected. It is cheating when someone doesn’t respect their deal.”
For this Valentine’s Day, the non-monogamous public gained a good ally to celebrate. Mayumi explains that Ysos is a safe environment, created for the non-monogamous, liberal community, and also for other uncommon practices.
“That’s why our concern is constant to ensure everyone’s privacy. One of the app’s differentials is that the profile owner has two galleries: the public and the private. Thus, they choose which ones they want to show for those they have more affinity with. It’s also prohibited to use internet or third-party photos, with strict moderation to ensure authenticity,” says Mayumi.
