Mental Health Day is a new online event specifically for working professionals seeking to integrate mindfulness techniques into their work day to increase productivity, motivation, personal empowerment, and reduce stress at work. Scheduled for May 26, 2017, it will feature a full day of online sessions from over a dozen industry experts, four of which have been announced already:

Conquer Stress at Work: It’s estimated that stress is responsible for 60-90% of doctor’s visits, and one million workers miss work each day because of stress. That costs companies $602 per employee per year. Kathy Gruver, PhD, will teach attendees how to manage their own reaction to stress so they can create a more enjoyable work experience for themselves and their teams.

Resilience and Thriving in the Face of Change and Adversity: The only constant in life is change…and people are not always happy about that! Bill Hefferman will teach how to lean into change at work and embrace the opportunities it offers.

Be a Self-Advocate, Be a Mentor, Be a Muse: So many people feel powerless in their roles. Nikki Massaro Kauffman will teach attendees how to take back control of their career and empower themselves, empower others, how to build a coalition, and get more done at work.

Turn Any Workspace Into a Spa Environment: Genevieve Howard will teach attendees how to create a secure and relaxed office environment, even if they are basement or cubicle dwellers.

Speakers interested in being featured during the event can submit their proposal until February 28, 2017 on the conference website. The full schedule will be announced in early March.

The event was created by Karlyn Borysenko, Owner & Principal of Zen Workplace, a New Hampshire based consultancy dedicated to bringing highly practical mindfulness techniques to organizations to enhance the employee experience and increase productivity. “The real secret of happiness at work is that we all have the power to create an environment that we love to come to work in each day, no matter our current organization, title, or role. I created Mental Health Day to give people a roadmap to do just that. It will expose them to information and perspectives that will help them to reduce their stress at work, be more productive and creative, and offer new approaches to find or create their dream job.”
