New ‘Our Bible App: It’s a Radical Idea, Isn’t It?’ is Officially Launched

The New App Provides Tools and a Spiritual Community for Members of the LGBT Community, as Well as Others Who Don’t Feel they Quite Fit in at Church

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / September 14, 2016 / Crystal Cheatham, a writer, folk singer and creator of the IDentity Kit for Queer Christian Youth, is pleased to announce the launch of her innovative new app called Our Bible App: It’s a Radical Idea, Isn’t It?

As a spokesperson for Our Bible App noted, faith can provide people with many benefits, but one of the greatest rewards is a deep sense of community with others. Whether they are exploring different possibilities in one’s faith or living a lifestyle not easily accepted within fundamental Christianity, people still feel the need for both spiritual learning and the sense of community that goes with it.

While there are churches popping up that do accept a wide variety of people, many in the LGBT community are not finding what they need.

“Our Bible App is providing tools and a spiritual community for LGBT, feminists, agnostics, and anyone else that feels they aren’t quite fitting into the scene of traditional churches,” the spokesperson said, adding that one of the app’s most popular features is a message board, so people can find connections with others going through the same spiritual journey.

“It serves as a wonderful platform for discussion and questions regarding readings and various aspects of belief. Our Bible App gives one a sense of independence in exploring different aspects of Christian teachings, providing multiple Bible translations and a library of devotionals.”

Thanks to the newly launched tool, those that feel like outsiders will have the chance to learn about their faith with readings, podcasts, videos, and articles directed toward their experiences.

In order to help pay for the production costs associated with creating and launching Our Bible App, Cheatham recently launched a fundraiser on Kickstarter. She hopes to raise $40,000 through crowdfunding to help bring the app to as many people as possible.
