Paralegal Certificate Courses Offered by Paralegal Institute of Washington DC

The Paralegal Institute has coursework which trains students to gain certification as a paralegal in a relatively brief period. The classes can be completed in just four to six months.

Paralegal Institue of Washington DC and President, Avon Alexander, are proud to announce that their coursework leading to a paralegal certificate is now available to students who want to be fully certified quickly. The Institute recently launched the courses as part of its licensed Institute of Higher Learning facility. The location is in the Capitol, Washington DC. For students interested in pursuing a career in law, paralegal services are one course of study which can be completed relatively quickly.

In a recent interview, Avon Alexander, President of PIW explained, “Our instructors and faculty members are all lawyers. Each of the professors has comprehensive expertise in their coursework. Corporately they cover a significant part of the legal field. Our professors are recognized as the specialists in their specific fields. Together, they provide students with the needed training to accomplish their educational and career goals.”

The classes are small in size, with no more than twelve students in each session. After a few weeks of coursework, students are ready to take their place in the workplace. Classes can be taken in either daytime or evenings, for added convenience. In addition to the educational component, Paralegal Institute helps students with internship placement, as well as assistance in preparing resumes. The students also learn how to prepare for interviews.

A list of courses in the program is comprehensive. Some of the course titles include Trusts and Estates, Introduction to the Law, Real Property, Partnerships, and Corporations. U.S. Court Systems, Legal Writing, Criminal Law, Legal Research, Civil Rights, Employment Discrimination, Contracts, Immigration, Torts, Ethics and Domestic Relations. Interview and Job Skills is also available as a course.

For additional training in legal matters, the Institute provides several workshops. In the near future, the following workshops will be presented: Legal Memorandums, Legal Correspondence and Cite Checking Workshop.
