Phoenix AZ – May 25, 2017 /MarketersMedia/ —
Erus Energy is pleased to announce that they are celebrating five years of collaboration between the top solar energy provider firm and the House of Refuge. The House and its sister facilities House of Hope and House of Promise are dedicated to assisting and providing a safe haven for those who have fallen on rough times or who have recently come out of incarceration. The HRS does more than just provide a bed in a room. Instead, they provide a comfortable shared house.
The House of Refuge Sunnyslope teaches valuable living courses and support with Bible studies. Residents must be clean and sober with a devotion to finding full-time employment and becoming upstanding citizens. Sunnyslope is currently serving 36 men. House of Hope and House of Promise are sister sites to House of Refuge, which serve women and single mothers. These houses currently have nine single moms with children and ten working women, bringing the total served up to seventy.
A spokesperson for the organization says, “An important part of our mission is to teach life and living skills to members, so that when it is time for the resident to leave, they will be stronger and ready to take on the world themselves. The classes are held in shared space between church events and other community classes. At the start of every class, the leader must drag out a huge TV, connect with a computer, find all the wires, and plugs. As you can imagine, it gets to be an inconvenient hassle. Then at the end of every class, everything must be put away. There was a need for a cart that mounts the TV and computer, making the whole operation convenient.”
Erus Energy is a local solar company specializing in Enphase Battery Systems. Not only do they seek to harness sunlight to lower people’s power bills and clean up the environment, they value supporting local citizen needs. Erus Energy has taken a special interest in House of Refuge and the sister Houses because these volunteers dedicate their lives to teaching people how to get back on their feet. Erus Energy has also hired several employees who have graduated the House of Refuge program. So when Erus Energy reached out to Women’s Program Director Lisa Kukla to see what they are in need of, they were happy to provide a cart to help make these classes easier to run.
“This generous gift will give us flexibility to reach more people through our evening classes. We are excited that Erus Energy and Jesse Gee values what we do and continues to support us,” Lisa Kukla, Women’s Program Director.
