Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills shares few tricks on treating children’s teeth this Halloween. Also, offering dollars for the left over candy. This year, Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills’ Candy Buy Back is on Mon, Nov 2nd and Tues, Nov 3rd from 8 am – 4 pm.

When asked about the Candy Buy Back, pediatric dentist, Dr. Daniel Autry first wanted to share few tricks for children’s teeth. First he stated, “As soon as your monster return home sort through the candy. Remove candy your child doesn’t really like and keep kid’s away from sour gummy candy. Not only is it sugary and sticky but the sour flavoring is acidotic, the worse combination for anyone’s teeth. Secondly, don’t let your kids keep the bags of candy in their bedroom, yes, out of site means out of mind.”

Dr. Autry continued, “Take Halloween candy and put it in smaller bags giving it to kids weekly. And remember; don’t ever put Halloween candy in school lunchboxes because they won’t brush again until bedtime. Leaving candy on their teeth all day long. If you are thinking that following these tricks leads to lot of left out candy in your home, then don’t worry. We have a solution in the form of a candy buyback program that helps out our troops.”

Each child will get a $1 per pound of donated Halloween candy (up to 5 lbs.) and then the candy is shipped to American troops overseas. Surprisingly, Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills received nearly 1800lbs of candy last year. And the best part of this cause is that, children can send a message or picture to our troops.

“We just want you to have a fun and safe Halloween. As a leading Saint Louis Pediatric Dental office we simply want to provide you a helpful tips and tricks to keep your children’s teeth the best they can be year round,” Daniel Autry, D.M.D., added lastly.
