Personal Injury Lawyer Comments On Construction Accident Leading To Injuries

According to Construction & Demolition Recycling, the two men, a 38-year-old and a 40-year-old, had been working on the demolition of the Wollaston Theater’s final wall when the structure collapsed. The 38-year-old was caught under 3 to 4 feet of brick and a steel beam and the 40-year-old man was able to jump from the basket of a boom truck and land on the bricks below, the article stated. Both men are expected to make a full recovery and the OSHA has opened an investigation into the incident.
The OSHA reported that more than 20 percent of all work-related fatalities in 2013 were employed in the construction industry and that one in five of the 4,821 reported fatalities in 2014 were also in the construction industry.The most common forms of injury in the construction business include slips, trips, and falls.These types of accidents in addition to electrocution and being stuck between objects or struck by them, accounted for over half of construction worker deaths in 2014, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
