Plans for Sweet Micky’s Comeback Tour are Announced by Producer Olivier Martelly
Olivier’s Father Michel Martelly, also known as Sweet Micky, is Well Known for Revolutionizing Compas Music
Los Angeles, CA / ACCESSWIRE / April 2, 2016 / Olivier Martelly, founder of the full-service music production company BigO Productions, is pleased to announce that he will take over the management of his father Sweet Micky’s music career by planning a comeback tour.
Sweet Micky, also known as Michel Martelly, started his musical career in 1988 with the popular single “Ou La La.” After the success of the debut single, Sweet Micky recorded 14 studio albums and several CDs up until 2008. Sweet Micky’s music features styles such as slow meringue, compas, troubadour, carnival meringue, and raboday.
As Martelly noted, he will oversee a variety of parts of the highly anticipated concert series, including media coverage and sponsorship opportunities. In addition, the Martelly family will use this opportunity to re-experience their musical roots, after the period during which the group Sweet Micky was absent from the Haitian music scene. Anyone who wishes to keep updated with Martelly’s work can subscribe to Olivier Martelly on Twitter or follow Olivier Martelly on Instagram.
“We are excited to put together a concert tour that the public will not soon forget,” said Martelly, who has produced music for international artists including Sean Paul.
“Sweet Micky was a pioneer in the unique compas genre, and we look forward to creating a show with epic performances that stay true to his style.”
Like his father, Olivier Martelly’s is also highly experienced in the music industry. His production experience began in 2009, the same year that BigO Productions was founded. In July 2015, Olivier Martelly and his company organized a free concert featuring Swizz Beatz, Chris Brown, and Lil Wayne for rap and hip-hop fans in Haiti.
After the concert, the founder of BigO said that the show was important to him because he wanted to provide the Haitian people with hope and unity through music.
“With this concert…the crowd connected with the artists and we were able to experience all those emotions as they watched the performances,” said Martelly to music magazine HipHopWired.com.
Martelly hopes to do the same with his father’s show, which debuts later this year. Individuals who wish to learn more about Olivier Martelly and BigO Productions can visit the producer’s Twitter.
