Plumbing Company In Miami FL Ensures Water Is Properly Tested For Lead

June 23, 2016 – – Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Miami has made it clear that the Miami, FL plumbing checks that they conduct follow all the EPA rules and regulations. Previously, a report revealed that 31 cities in the country have not used the proper lead testing methods in their overall plumbing systems. This came after the Flint, MI water crisis, where water was deemed to be unsafe for residents. What the report found was that several cities cheated in several ways when testing pipes for lead presence and that Miami was one of those cities. Mr. Rooter guarantees that their testing method is based on EPA standards.

Scott Ward from Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Miami says, “A recent investigation by a renowned journalist showed that a lot of plumbing companies violate the EPA guidelines for water testing, thereby reducing the possibility of detecting lead in their results. We want to make sure everybody knows that we observe the proper guidelines.”

The investigation showed that cities cheated in three ways. Firstly, they would ‘pre-flush’ the pipes before testing them, while also running the water slowly, and removing aerators from spouts. In so doing, there will be less lead found in the samples. The result is that inaccurate readings are made.

The report showed that, in Miami, plumbers would cheat slightly less severely, only running the water very slowly. The Miami, Fl plumber added: “We certainly do run water slowly when we test systems, but only to see whether the pipe lines work properly. And we do this after we have taken testing samples for lead. It has really disappointed us to hear that so many plumbers in Miami violate the EPA standards.”

The Miami, FL emergency plumber has made it clear that they have always been compliant with the Lead and Copper Rule, which the EPA put into force in the 1990s. They want to make sure that drinking water across Miami is 100% safe at all times. They encourage anyone who has concerns about their water supply to contact them as soon as possible for testing, and to see whether there are any other issues.
