Potential E-Cig Explosion Lawsuits, As Missouri Victim Sustains Severe Burns In E-Cigarette Explosion

July 19, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com provides information about a man who was severely burned by an exploding e-cigarette. As per NewsPressNow.com, a local Fox station, the victim’s e-cigarette exploded in his pocket seriously injuring him. Many of the man’s co-workers witnessed the explosion and stated that the explosion was louder than when a firecracker is set off. The victim, when asked about the situation, stated that his pocket began to get very hot, and he then heard a hissing sound and saw smoke coming out of his pocket. Shockingly, he reported that he began to see flames coming out of his pocket as well, proving that e-cig explosions can happen very spontaneously and cause significant damage to the users of the devices. The victim sustained severe burns to his inner thigh and groin.

After this particular instance that occurred in Missouri on April 30th, 3 additional e-cigarette explosions were reported. In total, there have been 5 explosions of e-cigarettes in Missouri since 2009, with 4 of them happening just in the last couple of months alone.

As per a timeline developed by TheProductLawyers.com, there have been 199 reported instances of exploding e-cigarettes. 77 of them have occurred in 2016. This number almost exceeds the combined totals of verified e-cig explosions that have happened in 2015 and 2014 numbering 47 and 38, respectively.
