New data reveals that solar power now accounts for more installed capacity than any other form of electricity generation. Every day last year, an average of approximately 500,000 solar panels were installed around the world, and China alone installed the equivalent of two wind turbines every hour.

Consumers who purchase already-made solar panels and wind turbines for their residential and commercial properties spend three to four times as much as those who make their own. Installing solar panels and a wind turbine at one’s home will cut energy costs by as much as 75 percent.
