ProEnc Wins Another Suicide Resistant TV Enclosure Project For Video Arraignment

Ely, United Kingdom – September 13, 2017 /PressCable/

ProEnc’s suicide resistant TV enclosures have been selected after rigorous testing, ensuring the protective TV boxes comply with the necessary laws to prevent self-harm in correctional facilities and have been successfully installed in Washington State Correctional Facilities.

ProEnc had to allow for a video camera to be installed above the TV, so that the inmate could attend the video arraignment without leaving the correction facility. Many states have realized that this is a massive cost transporting inmates to courts, with the increased risk of inmate escapes and risk to the public.

The project was to supply a protective TV enclosure that would accommodate a 50” flat screen television along with the video conferencing camera mounted above the TV. This enabled the inmate to “attend” an arraignment in the confines of the correctional facility.

ProEnc’s suicide resistant TV enclosures are made of steel, with a 3/8” thick viewing window, which is the thickest supplied in the industry. Inside the enclosure were a TV mount and a mount for the camera, audio was vented out of the enclosure through the vented door so the inmate and court could hear both parties.

ProEnc’s protective housing had to go through rigorous testing and was the only enclosure manufacturer to pass the tests and comply with the legal requirement for use in correctional facilities.

ProEnc’s suicide resistant TV enclosure installations for facilities in which self-harm is potential, ProEnc’s suicide-resistant solution is sloped on all 4 sides, rather than the 2 units that failed to just having a sloped top. ProEnc’s protective behavorial health television enclosure provides a level of prevention that does not exist in ProEnc’s competitors enclosures.

The project was for a total of 32 enclosures and took 3 weeks to manufacture and ship the enclosures to site under very strict timescales.
