Public Procurement Authority of Oregon Launches New, Improved Website

New website at PPA-OR.gov lists all current and past solicitations and is full of information for vendors, members, and others, Public Procurement Authority reports

Oregon’s Public Procurement Authority launched a new and improved website. Opening up improved group purchasing opportunities to its members and members of NPPGov, a cooperative purchasing program, since its 2013 formation, the Public Procurement Authority is a public-sector organization that acts as the lead agency for the public solicitation process. The Authority’s new website lists its present and past solicitations and includes a number of helpful resources regarding the Request for Proposal process and other, related topics. With a simple, clean, design and easily navigable structure, the new website will be an asset to both PPA members, NPPGov members, and vendors interested in serving them.

“We’re happy to announce that our new, improved website is now online and serving visitors at PPA-OR.gov,” PPA Contract Manager Heidi Arnold said, “This mobile-friendly new site is already making it easier for members and others to learn about and take advantage of what we have to offer. Browsing our latest solicitations has become a lot easier, and learning about how to work with the Public Procurement Authority has never been simpler, either.”

In an effort to help public entities at all levels and of all kinds more productively serve mutually aligned interests and their overlapping purposes, Oregon’s Revised Statutes provide a comprehensive legal framework for encouraging cooperation between them. In August of 2013, the Public Procurement Authority of Oregon was born as a result of preparation conducted under Chapter 190 of the Revised Statutes, with three fire districts acting as founding members. Seeking lowered procurement and solicitation costs and other advantages, these members, the Jackson County Fire District No. 3; Redmond Fire and Rescue; and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, have also since thereby gained access to the federal NPPGov program.

As with other public-entity group purchasing organizations, the Oregon Public Procurement Authority serves its members by soliciting proposals from vendors interested in and able to meet their purchasing demands. This transparent, legally defined process opens up new opportunities for vendors while cutting costs and improving overall efficiency for members.

The new Public Procurement Authority website lists the group’s current Requests for Proposals in both original and any amended forms, along with closed solicitations of all kinds. It also includes information regarding the legal requirements for submitting proposals and working with the Public Procurement Authority, along with information about the organization’s status, governance, and other details. With a modern, responsive design that works perfectly with mobile devices, the new website passes Google’s industry-standard “mobile friendly” test without warnings.
