The recently launched SocialNeos Plugin is generating buzz and critical reviews in internet marketing circles due to its claim of being an innovative ‘2-in-1? content locker that simultanously increases social share while building an email list. The launch of Social Neos is primed to capitalize on a report released by ShareThis, showing that Facebook accounts for 84% of all sharing activity.

Hanif Quentino, owner of e-Marketing Champs, has created an in-depth guide and premium bonus for SocialNeos, which is availabe on his site for review: http://www.emarketingchamps.com/SocialNeosPR

According to a recently published report by ShareThis, Facebook’s share of sharing accounts for 84% of the total market for websites on the ShareThis network. This is a 11.9 percentage points increased versus last year. The next player is Twitter, with a 5.8% share of sharing activity, followed by Blogger with 4.8%, and Pinterest with 2.9%. Although this makes it very clear Facebook doesn’t leave too much room for anyone else in this market, Blogger’s 2.1 percentage points rise is definitely something to consider. Pinterest, which was last year’s revelation, recorded a decrease of 5.3 percentage points. This was the big surprise of this study, taking into consideration Pinterest’s evolution over the past few years.

In conclusion, for every 10 shares from all websites in ShareThis more than eight are on Facebook. This speaks volumes about the rise of this social media network and about the difficulty of catching up with them. Newcomers don’t stand a chance, since even older networks have troubles in maintaining their share of sharing.

When it comes to the segmentation by device, Facebook scores even better, with a whopping 87% of total sharing, compared to only 79% on desktop computers. Facebook was also superior in the ‘People and Society’ and ‘Health and News’ predefined categories on ShareThis. The only category in which Twitter was by far the market leader was ‘Sports’. For everything else, the majority of users preferred Facebook to share the news with their friends. Pinterest also scored above average in the ‘Beauty and Fitness’ category. The ‘Food and Drink’ and ‘Home and Garden’ categories were also a little more balanced than others, with Pinterest scoring a bigger share of sharing than the average across the entire ShareThis network of websites.

ShareThis pulls its reports and conclusions from a pool of 2 million websites that make use of their social sharing tools. This is quite a sample, considering also that many big websites use ShareThis for offering their readers social media sharing tools.
