Singapore, Singapore – July 24, 2015 /MarketersMedia/ —
Officially launched today, RedMart Marketplace allows independent resellers to list and sell their products to RedMart’s growing base of customers using the company’s extensive delivery network. RedMart Marketplace offers retailers, wholesalers and distributors an integrated suite of logistics and technology services. Currently there are over 100 independent sellers who have set-up their store on RedMart Marketplace, offering more than 5,000 food, grocery and household products.
Roger Egan, Co-founder & CEO of RedMart, said: “We have been testing Marketplace for 4 months now, and it has been extremely well received by our customers and sellers alike. Looking at all the positive feedback and numbers, we are thrilled to officially launch Marketplace today. Marketplace allows us to expand our product offerings in line with what customers have been asking for, and we are confident that Marketplace will take our RedMart business to new heights.”
Katrina of Euraco Fine Foods, said: “RedMart Marketplace is a fantastic way for us to sell to a wide customer base without the worry of setting up our own logistics and delivery network. We have already seen an increase in our revenues and are very excited to be a part of this community. We look forward to celebrating the official launch tonight.”
RedMart has also partnered with SPRING Singapore to extend the Marketplace offering to local SMEs to boost their e-commerce knowledge and capabilities. The partnership with SPRING Singapore will give local SMEs an opportunity to be a seller on Marketplace as part of a business improvement programme, where they will be trained and mentored in all aspects of e-commerce including inventory management, pricing and marketing.
Commenting on the partnership with SPRING Singapore, Roger said: “We are pleased to collaborate with SPRING Singapore to reach out to local SMEs and offer them a platform to elevate their business through e-commerce. The e-commerce scene in Singapore is in an exciting phase and RedMart is happy to share our experience and expertise to upskill the local retailers. We believe Singapore has great potential to become a thriving e-commerce hub and we look forward to doing our part.”
“RedMart is working with SPRING Singapore to support more local SMEs to come onboard the Marketplace platform, as part of our efforts to uplift the e-commerce capabilities and competitiveness of local retailers. Beyond receiving assistance to go ‘live’ and start transacting with customers, participating SMEs will undergo a 6-month business improvement programme to equip themselves with skills to thrive in an e-commerce environment. This will be done through consecutive trainings, performance review, data analytics review and one-to-one coaching sessions with the RedMart team. Such know-how will enable participating SMEs to better engage digital-savvy customers and grow their online sales,” said Mrs Kee Ai Nah, Group Director for Industry Development, SPRING Singapore.
Through the collaboration with SPRING, RedMart will work closely with around 400 local businesses. At the end of the business improvement programme, the SMEs will be able to continue as a seller on RedMart Marketplace or set up their own e-commerce venture.
In launching Marketplace, RedMart will be hosting a launch celebration for customers, partners and retailers. The launch celebration will offer customers an opportunity to experience the wide range of Marketplace products, meet the sellers and enjoy a range of exclusive giveaways.
