RIBA Venues — Why London has become the Perfect Conference Location for International Companies

London is now the best conference venue in the world, with hundreds choosing the city ahead of other global financial hubs to host their senior level meetings.

United Kingdom – 14 July, 2015 – Eight factors make London the number 1 city in the world for business, according to the most recent ranking of the most influential citiesby Forbes Magazine.

These include how much foreign direct investment the city has attracted, the concentration of corporate headquarters per capita; the number of business niches that dominate; transport hubs and how easy it is to travel to other global cities); producer services and how strong they are; financial services; technology and media power; and racial diversity.

Specifically, London is home to the headquarters of at least 68 of the biggest companies on the Forbes Global 2000 list. Not only that but London is Europe’s top city for technology start-ups. That’s according to the Start-up Genome project, which estimates there to be 3,000 as well as Google’s biggest office in the world outside of Silicon Valley.

This means international companies are increasingly booking central London conference venues to host their international delegates.Joel Kotkin, for Forbes Magazine, explains why London is a dominant business hub, and why hundreds of companies flock to the city to do business every year. “A preferred domicile for the global rich, London is not only the historic capital of the English language, which contributes to its status as a powerful media hub and major advertising centre, but it’s also the birthplace of the cultural, legal and business practices that define global capitalism.”

Stephanie Ellrott from RIBA Venues, an event venue in central London providing conference room hire said: “We are seeing a notable increase in companies from the United States, Asia, the Middle East and Europe booking our conference rooms to hold their meetings.” She went to say “Our stunning Art Deco venue, which can host up to 400 guests, is right next to Regent Street and Great Portland Street tube stations so we are very central. This is perfect for businessmen and women who not only want to attend the meeting but also visit the city’s main cultural attractions like Buckingham Palace, Oxford Circus, Westminster and the Tower of London. The venue also has three roof terraces that offer panoramic views of the city.”
