RM Information Security Achieve TIGER Scheme Certification In Web Application Penetration Testing

RM Information Security has achieved the senior level TIGER scheme certification for web application penetration testing: the most advanced penetration testing qualification in the industry.

Manchester, United Kingdom – October 31, 2016 /MarketersMedia/ —

Web applications are powerful and versatile, but because of their complexity, they can also leave websites and user data vulnerable. As such, it is important for both businesses using web applications, and developers creating them, to have them tested for robustness and security. This can identify weaknesses and exploits, and close holes in the defences before they become a real problem. Manchester based IT Security firm RM Information Security specializes in ethical penetration testing and information security consultancy that can simulate the methods of real attacks accurately. They have just received the senior TIGER scheme commercial certification in penetration testing.

The TIGER scheme is a commercial certification scheme for technical security specialists, backed by University standards. Founded in 2007, TIGER was based on the principle that a commercial certification scheme, run on independent lines, would give buyers of penetration testing services confidence that they were hiring a recognised and reputable company. The scheme now covers a wide range of expertise.

RM consultant Mark Wityszyn has achieved the Senior Level Tigerscheme qualification (SST Web Application). This is based on a written paper, a multiple-choice paper, a six hour ‘assault course’ practical assessment, and an interview during which the candidate is asked to explain their findings from the practical assessment.

Tigerscheme qualifications are recognised by CESG, the National Technical Authority for Information Assurance in the UK, as being technically equivalent to the most senior examination level for penetration testing.

A spokesperson for RM Information Security explained, “We are very proud of Mark for achieving this qualification, and we look forward to seeing the difference it will make on behalf of our clients. Ethical penetration testing is an essential defence in today’s volatile online world, and we are pleased to have our team recognized at the highest level by the national authority in the industry. We work not only in Manchester but with clients throughout the UK and the wider world, and will continue to deliver the best experience at the best possible value.”
