Fortunately, with some good people behind us, we have invested time into studying online marketing techniques and have started to embrace social media. We have always listened to constructive criticism and feedback from our guests and acknowledge that reviews are important. Whilst there will always be those that use them maliciously, we should congratulate AirBnB in particular for allowing owners to review their guests in return, which encourages good behaviour and more respectful use of often expensive fixtures and fittings. AirBnB responded to some bad press by implementing a philosophy that guests should leave the accommodation as they find it, and to expect to be reviewed accordingly in return. This has worked well in practice in our recent experience, and we have been able to overcome every other obstacle along the way and really hit our stride.”
