SAHAMM’s Nutritional Certification Advanced Course In PJ, Kuala Lumpur Announced

The second module of SAHAMM’s Nutritional Certification & Advanced Course will be held on June 22nd – 24th in PJ, KL. Participants can get certified as a nutrition specialist therapist and will be awarded CPD points.

Following its successful launch earlier in March 2018, the Society for the Advancement of hormones and Healthy Aging Medicine Malaysia (SAHAMM), in collaboration with the Australian College of Medical Nutrition, is set to push forward with their Nutritional Certification & Advanced Course Module 2 from the 22 to 24 June 2018 at The Royal Chulan Damansara Hotel in Petaling Jaya.

President of SAHAMM, Datuk Dr. Selvam Rengasamy, MBBS (Madras), FRCOG (London), FACNEM Board Certified Anti-Aging Physician, HIS & A4RM said, “This three-day course forms part of the six-module “Master in Nutritional Medicine” program, which aims to enhance medical practitioners’ appreciation of the role of nutrition in health maintenance, disease prevention and supporting body metabolism in fighting disease.”

Successful completion of this program will enable participants to understand the physiology of glucose regulation, recognize common health disorders amenable to dietary and nutrient modulation, understand the physiopathology underlying diabetes and metabolic syndrome and identify the nutritional causes underlying cardiovascular disease. It will also increase knowledge of device nutrition-based clinical protocols to improve diabetes and cardiac health, as well as enable participants to recognize common allergies and treatments.

Course lecturers include an international panel of renowned medical practitioners namely Datuk Dr. Selvam Rengasamy, specialized in obstetrics and gynaecology who has taken an active interest in treating his patients holistically using Integrative Medicine with Nutritional and Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy; Dr. Karel Hromek BMed BSc FACNEM FACRRM FINMA, who has long specialized in nutritional and environmental medicine; Dr. Mark Westaway MBBS DCH MLCOM MACNEM MRSB Grad.Dip. Allergy, with a strong background in paediatrics; Dr. Baljit Singh Kaulsay MD, a full time medical practitioner; and Dr. Marcus Hewitson MBBS BSc FRACGP who specializes in personalized medicine and individual treatment protocols.

SAHAMM and the Australian College of Medical Nutrition are embarking on a collaboration for 2 programmes that will run over 2 years. The programmes are:

– The Certification and Masters Program in Nutritional Medicine, and

– The Nutritional Certification Advanced Program (Fellowship)

Both the programs will consist of 6 modules. The first program was held in March 2018 and the next two modules will be held in the months of June and September 2018 respectively and Modules 4, 5 & 6 will be held respectively in the months of March, June and September 2019.
