San Diego Foot and Ankle Surgeon Using Advanced Cartilage Replacement to Save Foot and Ankle Joints

This procedure works well in foot and ankle joints that may be affected by arthritis. The patient is first diagnosed with a thorough exam and digital biomechanical gait testing with video analysis. X rays are then taken to confirm the extent of the arthritis. If the procedure is indicated, it is performed in an operating room under sterile conditions. One can walk on their feet during recovery, which can be 6-12 weeks depending on the severity of the condition.
