Miami, FL – April 26, 2016 /MarketersMedia/ —
For the second time, Legacy Fit, Miami’s top bootcamp gym, is teaming up with the Save the Strays Foundation, a non-profit organization for the benefit of Miami’s stray animals to host the 2nd Annual Sweat for the Strays fund raiser. On Saturday, April 30, from 9:45 to 10:45 AM, the popular bootcamp gym opens the facility to the public to raise money for the animal rescue foundation.
“We had so much fun last year,” said Legacy Fit founder, Manning Sumner. “As animal lovers, there is nothing quite as rewarding as helping out and making a difference for the many strays in the city. Save the Strays is an awesome foundation and deserves all the support we can give.”
Legacy Fit personal trainer, Isaac Saiz, is the President of the foundation and spearheads a great deal of activity and fund raising to benefit more than just the Save the Strays Foundation.
“We’re able to supplement funds for veterinary services for rescued domestic and farm animals,” Saiz stated. “In addition, we provide funding for home placement and community awareness. Sweat for the Strays is a perfect opportunity to raise some much needed funding while spreading the word on the issue of animal welfare.”
A minimum donation of $20 to the foundation is required and payment can be made through PayPal. Space is limited for the one hour workout, but you may reserve a spot in the class when donations are made through PayPal. Reference info@savethestraysfoundation.com and enter the participant’s name. Led by a professional Legacy Fit personal trainer, the “all fitness level” bootcamp class will begin promptly at 9:45 AM. Opportunity to sign up for gym membership will be available.
In addition to the bootcamp class, the Save the Strays Foundation will give participants and attendees opportunity to rescue animals at the event.
“There will be animals there who need a permanent home,” Saiz continued. “There are so many rescues that need homes that we have to take every opportunity we have to touch someone’s heart and get these loving, adorable animals into a home.”
Animal welfare is an issue for many major metropolitan areas and Miami is no exception. According to Miami Dade County Animal Control, more than 37,000 animals are placed in shelters each year. Of those, only approximately 6,000 are adopted from the shelter, around 8,000 are placed into homes by rescue foundations like Save the Strays, leaving the remainder to be euthanized.
“The problem of animal welfare is huge in our country,” Saiz commented. “If you can’t come to the event this Saturday, please give what you can. The animals need our help.”
