SENT Ventures Announces Nick Madden as New CEO

SENT Ventures has announced Nick Madden as their new CEO, succeeding SENT founder John Cannon.

San Diego, CA, California, United States, February 4, 2025 — SENT Ventures is proud to announce that Nick Madden, a long-time member of the SENT community and one of its earliest Fellows, has been named CEO. Madden will assume his new role immediately, succeeding SENT Founder John Cannon, who has led the organization since its inception.

“For the past several years, I’ve been encouraging Nick Madden to become more involved in SENT leadership. Nick joined one of the first SENT Fellowship cohorts in the early days of COVID when his in-person escape room business was threatened to shut down. SENT became a nourishing lifeline to him during this time and he poured into it as much as he received, helping many other founders grow. He continued his transformation of building daily spiritual routines, designing his business with values, and becoming more involved in SENT.” said John Cannon, Founder of SENT Ventures. 

“As CEO of Red Door Escape Room, Nick has led the company from one store to 19 stores nationally and built a team of over 400 employees who have served over 1 million customers. He knows how to build great teams and grow companies aligned with his faith. Moreover, Nick has held multiple leadership roles in SENT the past two years and has deep knowledge of our mission and community. For this reason, I couldn’t imagine a better leader to take SENT to the next level. I’m excited to announce that Nick will be taking over from me as CEO of SENT this January.”

Madden’s journey with SENT began in 2020 when he joined one of the first Fellowship cohorts. At the time, he was leading Red Door Escape Room, which had eight locations across the country and was navigating the challenges of reopening after the COVID-19 shutdowns. The SENT community played a critical role in helping Madden integrate faith into his business, develop a Rule of Life, and find mentors who challenged him to dream bigger.

Reflecting on his new role, Madden shared, “As I step back and look at our culture, I see that entrepreneurship has incredible momentum. From students majoring in entrepreneurship to the rise of side hustles and entrepreneurial ecosystems, this energy is undeniable. As Catholics, it’s critical that we direct this momentum toward the greater glory of God. SENT is here to equip Catholic business leaders with the tools to take their work to the next level while becoming Saints. We believe the next generation of Saints will be business leaders, and these leaders have the power to change our culture.”
